German A2 — Become More Comfortable in Everyday German

A2 takes you beyond basic introductions and memorised phrases. You’ll begin using German more independently in familiar, everyday situations and develop greater control over grammar, vocabulary and sentence formation.

The course expands your ability to talk about your work, studies, family, travel, routines, experiences, preferences and plans. You’ll practise understanding everyday conversations, reading practical texts and communicating in situations you are likely to encounter while travelling, studying or living in a German-speaking environment.

By the end of A2, you should be able to:

• Hold simple conversations on familiar everyday topics
• Talk about your past experiences, plans, preferences and daily life
• Understand frequently used expressions related to personal, work and travel situations
• Read and understand short emails, notices, advertisements and everyday texts
• Write connected sentences and simple messages about familiar subjects
• Manage routine conversations such as making appointments, shopping, travelling and discussing work or studies

End goal: Move from knowing basic German to actually using it in routine situations, with greater confidence and less dependence on memorised phrases.
